Could someone please explain what is meant when people refer to Uberti being accurate with frame sizes but Pietta is not? I believe it’s said that Pietta makes guns with one frame size. Which models? Thanks in advance.

In a nutshell, Uberti makes belt pistols (Army's, Navy's), horse pistols (Walkers, Dragoons) and pocket guns( . . . pocket guns).
Pietta makes all of their open top revolvers on the belt pistol platform. They may name some '62 this or that ( pocket designation) but they are belt frame size.

Are the belt pistol frames smaller and lighter?

Uberti revolvers are accurate to the actual size while Pietta is not. Compare an Uberti 1858 Remington to a Pietta and you will see the difference quite clearly, both in frame size and weight. Armi San Paolo are also much closer to original.
Also, Pietta uses their same 1858 NMA frame and cylinder for their .36 cal Navy pistols (just underbored) while the originals were much smaller in comparison,
