I think brushes would be OK for the sealer but I just use my finger when applying the regular finish.

Yep hand rubbing the finish on right now. The basement workshop is a bit cool this time of year so it is taking awhile for the finish to dry. I get one coat a day. Going to take awhile for this phase.
 
That's what I do, one coat a day. Best to be sure last coat is completely dry before rubbing down and applying another coat. When rubbing down be sure to be careful around sharp corners like lock panels ect.
