The new tins I open with a knife or thin bladed screwdriver and transfer the caps to a well used and easy to open tin for use.
In the mid 70s Dad bought me some metal tipped pellets for my airgun. I saved the metal tin, it's a larger diameter than a musket tin, but the height of #11 tin.
I have transferred caps into it for 44 years. Like the kid I was i scratched the German made label from the lid.
I wish I'd left it now.
 
This is the little tin of caps I use in my shooting bag. :) the deerskin pouch keeps the lid secure and helps keep the tin from banging around with the lead balls.

Ditto on the Cash Rifleman's capper. It will hold almost a whole tin of caps. Haven't been bored enough to count, but if I had to float a guess, between 70-80.
 
They have allot to choose from there I've been looking at...

And the tubes are the same.

Custom logos even.. get a live free or die on there. don't tread on me.
