I mistakenly sold this as a 50 cal rifle recently, and made a huge mistake. So it is back up for sale. This percussion long rifle is 45 cal, and has a beautiful curly maple stock. This was not a kit gun, but I believe a gun built using quality parts. The stock workmanship is not top notch, and can be improved on, in my opinion. The full octagon barrel is over 40 inches, and is 15/16" across the flats. There is no makers mark on the barrel anywhere, or any other markings either. It is a traditional gray finish (not polished, browned, or blued).
The double set triggers has DRU stamped on the frame, and is believed to be made by Dru Hedgecock. I believe the lock to be a Siler, but can not promise.
The barrel was loaded and cruddy when I bought it. I have cleared and cleaned up the barrel. It is pitted, but I have lapped the barrel so a wet patch slides in and out of the barrel smoothly.
This rifle needs to be fired, but I can't due to recent shoulder surgery.
Asking $375, plus $25 to cover about half of the shipping. I would rather sell, but will listen to trade offers.
