I am not certain when this rifle was made but It does show some age and mellowing of brass furniture. The swamped 40” barrel is signed L. Thompson and has proved to be very accurate. The rifle came from a local estate and the condition of the rifle and bore is excellent. Priced at $675+ Actual shipping

Can you take a closer detailed picture of the barrel pin down method used and the bottom view of the trigger guard?
It looks like it has been changed from one method using a pin and plate to a wedge...
If that is the case, what was done to the bottom of the barrel to accommodate that?
It also appears that the pins for the trigger guard have been removed. Are there screws holding the trigger guard on?

I will try to take some additional pics when the rain stops. The trigger guard is pinned and has a small screw at the tail of the guard. The rifle appears to have been built using wedges, the pins you are seeing hold the ramrod thimbles in place. I see no evidence of the rifle ever being modified in any way. Hope this helps until I can get better weather for additional photos.
