Pennsylvania Fowler

I am currently looking for my first Fowler. I live in central Pennsylvania, and would like to get something that would be correct for my area. Something my ancestors would have carried through the very hills I reside. Does anyone have any suggestions of what that style would be called? Who would you personally contact to have one custom built, or better yet, where is one setting that I could pick up. Thanks.

Well, Jim Chambers has a Pennsylvania fowler kit that is very well received. I recommend Grinslade’s book Flintlock Fowlers if you desire something more custom. There’s a large section dedicated to “Kentucky Fowlers”, the majority of which are from PA.
So far as makers, most are booked for a couple years.
