Midsouth has the Lyman tang peep listed as 'in stock' for GPR and Trade Rifles. It's the exact same 57SML as for TC's but you won't need the spacer that comes with it.

Shawn I sent you a PM about the peep sight

does the stock need to be altered for it to fit ?

I'm not shawn but, the base of the TC sight is the same width as your tang. and uses the rear tang screw and an 8x32 oval head screw for the other hole.

a friend tried a Williams peep sight on my Hawken and I would have to remove some wood for it to fit. Does the 57 sml require the same wood be removed ?

A 57sml "should" fit a 45 or 50 cal TC Hawken with no wood removal but ya never know. Personally I would remove metal from the base of the sight instead of rasping on my stock.

If Shawn has the TC sight for anywhere near a reasonable price it likely would be your best bet.

Never remove wood from the stock. File or mill the underside of the sight. I've done it with a dremel
and painted the bare metal.
I just got an email from Track stating they're back in stock 57SML's.
