Would like some information on the wrench size to remove the nipple tried a 1/4 inch but to small.
Thanks

Should be 1/4” for Musket Cap, threads should be 5/16-18.
If an add ball #11 cap nipple was installed - it would/should be .200”- same threads.

might be metric ... 9mm?
10mm is just a touch off of 3/8 inch.
I know 8mm and 5/16 are the same size.

If an English made gun, try 5/16 -18 Whitworth - which I believe is what the originals used (our British friends will have a more certain answer). If Italian made, try metric.

I have the PH Whitworth. It came with a nipple wrench but any musket nipple wrench of the time period should fit. Mine fit without any problem. If it doesn't then I'm not sure what you have.
