OK, I thought I would update everyone on the Broken Lock problem. I sent the lock to a highly recommended gunsmith who said the repair would cost £500 ($675). Well, imagine my reaction. After taking some advice, from some well informed members here, I sent it to Henry Krank, West Yorkshire. U.K. members here will be familiar with the name. I sent it the week before Christmas and received it back on Christmas Eve, repaired and a couple of extra parts included. I still had time to get to the range and test fire it. All was good. What a Christmas present! Oh, the cost? It was £47 ($65).
As far as I know, both places have original PH lock parts and the modern Italian equivalent. I don’t understand.

I agree with 54 bore on the cause of the broken tumbler :ThankYou:--- worn out flash hole of the nipple/ incorrect nipple which caused the hammer to be forced back violently to cause the tumbler to be broken:dunno:. Glad you got it fixed :thumb: :horseback:

The fly is the interruptor on the sear that prevents the hammer falling from half-cock.

What IS busted on the OPs lock is the tumbler. The swivel is missing completely, and there is the matter of the missing nipple, which surely disintegrated when it blew the hammer back. I have recommended to the OP - off-piste - to order a couple of replacement beryllium-copper Enfield nipples and their copper spacer washers, too.
