Dear fellow, shooting enthusiast’s,

My name is John Kevin O’Brien. I am a retired operations specialist, first class service warfare United States, Navy, 22 years, 1977, 1999.

I am saving up to buy a Matchlock muskett. I am trying to find a pan cover that has the hand fence to protect the shooter’s face, from the priming ignition action wants the lever or trigger is pulled. I have visited many sites on the Internet, and they have a lot of flash guard’s, which I have. But I am specifically trying to, upgrade the Matchlock rifle that I’m going to purchase soon with the addition of a pan fence. I assumed that I could just buy some angle iron and grind it down and drill some holes in the top of the pan, cover, and use small screws, and Loctite, to make sure that the pan fence is secured to the pan cover.

Does anybody, on the forum, know of a manufacturer or website that offers this kind of upgrade to a Matchlock rifle. This would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Operations specialist first class it was warfare, United States, Navy retired John Kevin OBrien, email is [email protected]
