This rifle was built by John Derrick who just passed away in May. Mr. Derrick's arms (he made almost 80) were always highly carved and decorated, where he made all the furniture himself, e.g., side plates, butt plates, ramrods pipes, etc., using the individually cast, lost wax method, using both brass and silver. Many of his muskets & rifles also have considerable engraved horn inlays all over them, with horn nose caps & ramrod tips. He also made use of premium parts from The Rifle Shoppe or swamped barrels from Rice or Getz, et al, Chambers locks, etc, and set triggers from RE Davis. This example has a 32" half round half octagon barrel. Bore is excellent. LOP is 13". Rifle weighs 6.5 lbs. Mr. Derrick's rifles are highly sought after. Rare opportunity. $1200 + Shipping.

Nice! If I already didn’t have his Spanish target rifle version, also in 40-cal, then I’d be all over this!

Besides appearing ‘Schuetzen’-like, it also has Jaeger origins or influence with that stepped wrist.

FYI, that ultra-ornate (silver adornments) Derrick 45 Jaeger that l’ve previously posted in 'PHOTOS' puts all 5-shots through 1 ragged hole!

From Flint62Smoothie:
'JD FECIT' ...

'fecit', Latin verb. fe·cit ˈfā-kit: He/she made (it). The meaning of FECIT is he/she made (it) — typically used on an artwork (such as a painting, sculpture, engraving, or building) to identify its creator.
