was briefly held May22-23 near Sanborton N.H........on road 5.5 hrs wed.. got there set up 4 tents for 10 day vous! Thursday morn flood control Officers said we had to evacuate, river had risen 2 ft overnite and expected to raise by Friday morn..11-13 feet minimum......an block the road in..any camps on hilltop could stay but everyone had to leave Thursday an could return when water receded,,but rain was forecast thru weekend and strong storms north of area would add to river.. how we ever got all that in the truck once was amazing,,an had no plans of taking alot back...got back Thursday nite..that just stunk!cost jus as much, travel jus as far work jus as hard..only thing saved was..ice money..geez well its a memory made!

That sucks. Drive that far, work that hard and then have to pull out fast. I have been at several wet Rondys. The Eastern at Salamanca NY and the one at McConnellsville OH. Had I known how bad they were going to get I wouldn't have bothered going but I got bragging rights for staying.

My wife and I just did two back to back weekend events where we brought home soaking wet canvas. It only rained on the last day for both of them. One of the events was shut down a couple of hours early just so we could all go home and dry off.

Well, you throw the weather dice each time you go. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't.

Hey RC, Dave & I planned to go to the Original this year but he was short handed at work so didn't make it. Joanne & I thought about heading down Tues. for visitors day but luckily checked the web site and saw the camp had been evacuated.

Thats not a good place to have a vous in the spring. Flood control should not come into play where you camp. Surely there must be a better place in NH for a vous.
