I picked up an original musket barrel, 47 and 3/4" long, octagon to round, quite an early profile, about 20 ga, with the tang threaded for a bolt from below. Definitely not a fowling piece barrel, the muzzle is thick. Breech is 1.25" tall, a little less wide. Barrel has been cut back some as there's no underlug dovetail up front, nor bead or bayonet lug. I'll try to get some pictures. It's been percussed with a drum and nipple. Here's the kicker: it's still loaded, probably with shot, as some paper fell out and it tamps soft with a long rod. Need a longer ramrod with a worm to pull the load.
