Offering this orginal 1850 manufacture '42 musket for trade. This musket has seen alot of use and has burnout near the nipple. There is a letter "J" lightly carved on the buttstock. Lock is in excellent shape, especially the internals! The bore was very dusty and ive given it a good swabbingreceived_1974922972645605.jpeg. ill be dammed if this musket didnt see service in the civil war. Stock has not been refinished. No missing parts!

Im unable to find a roundball mold for this musket and since im PRIMARILY a shooter, have lost interest in it.

Not yet interested in selling outright, but Id be intrested in muskets in .58 caliber, orginal and pedersoli repro. Other offers also welcome.

Hi, so there is missing wood around the nipple, typical of heavily used arms from around that time period.

Do you have a top view of the area? I have never seen burnout on a Civil War gun anywhere as near bad as that. Somebody broke that out while carelessly removing the barrel?
