That is a Carolina gun made in England. It has nothing to do with Virginia other than they were used there...and everywhere else.
Good book, but beware it's full of errrors.This book has been talked about before, but For Trade and Treaty is a great overall historical reference of the trade guns.
"For Trade and Treaty" is a good place to start. TOW sells it. Take a look at Clay Smiths website, he has many different Trade gun kits from early to late. @Rob M. builds beautiful Trade Guns, he has posted many photos and details of his wonderful work. He would be a good resource for you.Comfortably what books do you recommend...?
