On Saturday past, my gun club had it's annual open house. As RSO's, we are asked to provide some firarms so the guests get to shoot.
I had my .50 calibre Jaegar flintlock and Enfield musketoon on the line. Many people had their first taste of black powder, white smoke. Several young men came back several times to shoot the flinter. The smiles on thier faces after taking a shot is priceless.

May have "hooked" some new shooters to our cause. Just have to wait and see.

On normal shooting days, I feel "eyes" on me. I will invite the curious to taste the smoke. The flash of the pan, the cloud of smoke gives them a thrill.

Those of you that shot at gun clubs have had the same situations, most likely. Spread the fun.

Yep, it's a good feeling; spread the word so to speak. I recently introduced a couple of young veterans to smoke poles at my muzzleloader club. They did enjoy it, and one already has a flintlock pistol. Both will be back for our Indian Summer shoot, wouldn't be surprised if they both have muzzleloaders then. g

The club I shoot with did the same back in June. Sure was fun.
The big smiles are well worth the small effort. :hatsoff:

Isn't it great how just a little powder, patch and ball can light a fire in more ways than one! :hatsoff:
