Old Guys vs Young Guys 2011
Recently I realized that Swampy had his 50th birthday. Now everybody knows that 50 is OLD! And old guys can't hardly see a target nor hold up a rifle with their bad old eyes and scrawny old arms. :haha:
I, on the other hand, being a youthful 45, am still a young guy. And everybody knows that young guys are GREAT shots. We just can't help it, we're young. :idunno:
Swampy seems to think that old guys can still manage to out-shoot us young fellers. :youcrazy:
Well, here's their chance to prove it. We're having an Old Guys vs. Young Guys Shootin' Contest!
There will be two teams.
Anyone who is 50 years of age or older as of July 1, 2011 is an Old Guy. Anyone who is less than 50 years of age as of July 1, 2011 is a Young Guy.
Any member who was born at any time of day on July 1, 1961, or before, is automatically an Old Guy weather he'll admit it or not.
The captain of the Young Guys will be me, Jethro224.
The captain of the Old Guys will be Swampy.
Only registered forum members may participate.
Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzleloading firearms are allowed. Use a smoothbore, or a rifle, or a muzzleloading handgun(NO Cannons). Percussion, flintlock, matchlock, any traditional style ignition.
Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)
Shots will be taken off-hand at 25 yards.(Standing or seated)
One target entry per member.
3 shots per target.
Mutilated targets and targets with more than 3 holes will be disqualified.
Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scans, etc.
The target is a standard sheet of printer paper with an X drawn thru the center corner-to-corner.
Shots will be measured from the center of the hole to the center of the paper. The center of the paper will be determined by the judge (team captain).
Each team captain will measure his teams shots and record the scores. Judges decisions are final. At the end of the contest the winning team will be decided by the AVERAGE SCORE for all shooters from each team.
Take your best shots.
Write your screen name and age as of July 1, 2011 on your target.
The contest runs thru July 31st, 2011.
Mail your target to your respective team captain postmarked by August 1st, 2011.
