November sees me a bonus, we’ll sort of. I get lots of vacation hours and I can sell back a hundred in November
We do Christmas shopping and me and my wife take a bit to spend on our own little purchases
Hobby stiff always tops my list.
But this year took my pennies to Fort Charters and in spite of a ton of historic vendors there wasn’t much I needed.
Picked up a little flask, some more hemp rope, a little tea box but all and all not much I could use.
Got too many cups, pots and pans, all the blankets I need, all the knifes I need. Got a whole drawer full of bags of diffent sorts. Not a big buyer this year
Then I got my bonus in, and heck, can’t think of anything I need.
Bought some small stuff from Samson Historical and a little folding lantern from Crazy Crow. I’ll trek with that one as it’s not real hc but will be handy on a trail
I camp alone, and camp is small and in fact too full.
But right now nothing is making my mouth water
Shoes good
Clothing good
Lots of shirts
Might make a good woolen waist coat, but not in a hurry and that’s kind of a buy when I’m ready to get sewing
Hats, got all I need
Too many stockings
Oh my I hope I’m not jaded, just full

Well you can always use some $$ and spend a week or two at the Alafia River Rendezvous in January!

I feel like less is more. I wish I could only own one flintlock. Not there yet but working on it. Was looking at my cap and ball revolvers and realized I have 5 pistols and havnt shot one in over 3 years. Just sold 2 today to a pard at work. Down to 3 now. I have 3 squirrel rifles. Can't part with them but have a bag and horn for each with other stuff laying around. Of course the new Kibler SMR rifle is comin but that's gonna be my one deer gun. I remember my first custom flintlock rifle I purchased. I about rubbed the finish off just holding it. I have more appreciation for things I use more often I guess.

I understand you @tenngun, after 30+ years of doing events I don't even go down vendors row anymore I know there's nothing I need. I have a 6x12 box trailer loaded to the gills with rendezvous stuff.

For me, it is a little different. Age has made me have to look at things and make changes. I am 54 and after the lung transplant, I don't have the energy. I used to ride guerilla cavalry. Now I am too old and 40 lbs too heavy to look right. In my mind I am still 35 but my body does not agree. I still look at things and think, "I would love to have that" but then I rethink and look at all the bills and realize I would not use it anyway. I think knowing I am a lot closer to the end than the beginning makes a difference on what we want and our priorities....

Too much money I don’t have. It takes me a year to save for a new gun, months to save for some robdezvois bucks. But this time I saved my cash but really didn’t see anything I needed.
All dressed up no place to go
