For October I tried to find a fun Halloween themed target, (Ok I searched twice) but could not find one that had a pumpkin, or other Halloween theme AND an easy way to score that would challenge you guys.

SO...

Find your target here:
http://accurateshooter.net/pix/22targknowlimits.pdf

Score is the number in the circle hit, you will see that the smaller circles are worth more points. You need only break the line with your shot, (the ball has to actually hit the paper at a point that will break the line. Tear-overs don't count)

Aiming Dots are allowed so long as they do not fill past the circle outline. You may also color the circles in, as I will use a template to score.

As always per the following rules:

Fire 5 shots only, misses count!

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

No do-over’s.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzle loading firearms; peeps are allowed under the condition you mark your target so I know you used a peep. (Tracking it)(NO Cannons) .

Percussion or flintlock ignition. Cap and Ball revolvers are OK.

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance. Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso. In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle.

*New Rule!!**

**Currently this will only apply to target shoots that I don't have to measure with a ruler. Unfortunately I do not have a printer to print them out with.**

Overseas participants may scan and e-mail me the target at [email protected]. As long as I can CLEARLY make the target out I'll accept it.** (I recommend using a dark backing paper when you scan / copy it if possible so that the holes show clearly)

Mutilated targets, or targets with more than 5 holes will be disqualified.

The center of the shot and the placement on the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.

As a reminder if you use peep sights that too must be marked on your target. (Pretty Please!)

Mail your target postmarked by October 31st 2019 to:

When I pull up this target, and when I print it, it's double. One target over the other, 10 circles in total.
Am I supposed to cut the paper in half so I only have one target of 5 circles? Or do I shoot at all 10 with a five shot total?
After I mess up the smallest dots with a big bore I may need all ten.

1. Diameters vary and yes you can fill them in so long as the original outline is clearly discernible.
2. Yes it prints double with 10 total circles, I think it was originally designed for a contest betwixt two shooters present at the same time, I just liked the challenge and the scoring. 5 shots, aiming at whatever aim point you believe will give you the best score.

As an added note: I apologize fr not answering sooner. I am on Cell phone internet and I exceeded my limit so it wasn't working.

My meager submission is in the mail. Enjoyed an excuse to take the family to the range and enjoy the cooler weather in MS.

Cankenney is the first target this month. Thanks for shooting!
Thanks Adui,
Glad this month's target made it. My "lost" September target came back to me last week, after nearly three weeks of being mailed. Was tagged as undeliverable for some reason. Printed your address in very large and deliberate lettering this time. You seem to have a dandy of a post office out there:(

I live in a poorer neighborhood. I'm pretty sure our mail carrier doesn't think we deserve good service. I cant even get him to close the mailbox. When I filed a complaint he posted notice the very next day that my box was unacceptable for use and didn't meet post office standards. I was told I wouldn't get mail any longer till I fixed it. We went out the next day and bought a $10 +/- box and replaced it; (admittedly, it was in poor shape, but it came with the rental we lived in). We've moved since then, but only up the street in the same neighborhood, so same carrier.

Oh and he still leaves the box open most of the time. (and has run into the open door pulling away more than once)

No target for me this month, got too busy. Likely wont see a target from me till spring now with our winter weather coming very soon.
Shoot well everyone, I will still be checking monthly!

Shot mine yesterday, mailed today. Certainly nothing to brag about but I did hit the paper on all shots. The TC hawken had been loaded since before deer season along with the three quick shot tubes and all fired just fine. No difference that I could tell from the the fifth shot that I loaded on the spot. They all went bang and hit the paper, just not in a scoring area.

Well I shot mine. Couldn't actually see the targets so I just kind of aimed at the top left corner. Not my finest performance. Anyway, thanks for running the match Adui.
