Since I'm on my way out the door to TN for a rendezvous I don't have time to post the whole thing, but this will get you started;

The October contest is a deer hunter's tune-up.
Shoot 5 shots at a BLANK 8.5" x 11" sheet of printer paper at 50 yards.

NO sighting aids, because deer don't have aiming points.

Shots will be measured from the center of the paper.

All standard regularly posted rules will apply. I'll edit this when I get back from TN. :hatsoff:

One target entry per member.

5 shots per target, hit or miss.

Mutilated targets and targets with more than 5 holes will be disqualified.

No do-overs.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzleloading firearms (NO Cannons). Percussion or flintlock, matchlock or wheel lock ignition.

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance.(Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso)(In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle)

Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scans, etc.

The center of the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.

Mail your target postmarked by October 31, 2016 to;

Jim Green
P.O.Box 322
Pekin, IL 61555

Targets will not be returned unless an S.A.S.E. is included.

Be safe and have fun!

Got back late last night from the rendezvous.
Had an awesome time. :thumbsup:
I took first in smoothbore and WON the rifle raffle! :grin: :grin: :grin: :grin: :grin:
I'm just about the happiest guy around!

Anyway, I'll try and get the results posted tonight for the September shoot and the rest of the rules for this one.

Thanks for the congratulations. If you want to see my new rifle there's pics and details on the photo section. She's a sweet one.

The rest of the rules are in red up in the original post on this topic now.

"No restrictions on caliber."
Good thing on that! I only had one .490 ball left. I had to shoot it, retrieve it, pound it into round again and shoot. Again and again. I think it was a 32 when I was done with it. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
Target in the mail. Eyeball back in the socket.

I shot it :v Thursday, mailed :patriot: Friday. I'm hoping the Pony Express rider doesn't loose the mail pouch this trip :dead:. Feeling a little better and a little steadier. :wink: I'm getting some of the strength back in the left arm. :thumbsup:

Well... I was meaning to put up a November contest. Just ain't done it yet. I promise I'll get on it.

I should have posted the October results today but I ain't been to the post office to pick up the targets yet. I might get 'em up tomorrow. If not, then Saturday for sure.

3 out of the last 4 weekends I've been at rendezvous from Joliet, IL to TN. Plus 2 shoots besides. In between I've been kinda busy catching up with what I ain't been keeping up with at home and work. Next weekend is deer season.
But THIS weekend I'm free. I think... :)
