Could you point me in the right direction good sir? :)
Track of the Wolf has a good selection of nipples. I got some new ones from them a few weeks ago. They even have the models and brands listed for each thread size.

I also agree that Scheels is a good choice.

Last week I took the last two tins of cci from local sportsmans warehouse for $5.99@ (hadn't seen them there for many months and per the clerk they went fast and were unknown as to restock. I would not have bought at $14.99. Those stores should be marked and when (if) the economy recovers we should all ban any purchases from them until they have the final going out of business sale at 75% off min. GOUGERS SUC_

I recently procured some from a scalper on GunBroker, at about 3x the normal price.

I ended up getting some Mag-Spark adaptors for shotgun primers, blasphemy, I know, but 209's can be had at a reasonable price, and can actually be found here.
Some muzzleloaders began using shotgun primers for target shooting in the 1800's.

One downside of using musket nipples is they (the caps) can fall off easier than number 11 nipples. I have only had one cap fall off my Pedersoli, but had several caps fall off of my musket on a long slog.

The last caps I bought was at a store 200 miles away from home. Picked up 2000 cap sleeve. But it was at the beginning of a 3000-mile, 14-day road trip. A few months later, did another 14-day, 3000-mile road trip. With stops at gun stores for modern gun parts included in both trips.

That's a good way to do it for sure. I'll eventually find some somewhere, I hope. .

I have considered making a nipple to accept small or large rifle primers. Definitely have some strong ignition but would have to carry some kind of tool to pop them out of the nipple. Musket caps are expensive enough that I would rather buy rifle primers to have on hand.

I did score 500 No 11 CCI caps at the local gun store awhile back. A buddy bought me 200 and I went in and got him to sell me 300! haha

I do have a few 209's that I've been sitting on for a few years. If I can find a nipple system for my New Englander that would be a good option. I already have one for the Hawken in the house, but I don't shoot that one. Its belongs to my wife and she said I can't play with it.
