Although the M.1787 Hussar Carbine was essentially a stocked, smoothbored pistol barrel and used by hussars who would seldom ever be involved in gun combat, although the 10 'Karabiners' of each squadron carried a rifled version of which this civilian hunting model was a parallel development. Although it's said to be mid 18th century, it's lock says otherwise. This is the Prussian hussar carbine. Both smooth and rifled barrel version had sights.
