These GALLYONs are really nice modern fowlers from the folks at Investarm, makers of Lyman Great Plains Rifles. Gun is lightly used, but not abused. The 32" barrel has a bright shiny bore with some minor lead streaking. Scroll engraving at breech. The European Walnut stock has checkered wrist. Small crack shows at left side barrel key escutcheon plate. LOP is 14". A little wear at heel of buttstock, possibly from grounding while shooting trap? Overall a 95%+ gun, no longer made. $700 + Shipping.

Big Sky, is the barrel open, modified or full choke. I am very interested. Dale
Bore is .721. I believe cylinder. Read about using unpatched .715 round balls with 13 ga greased fiber wads for good groups at 40 yards. Essentially a shotgun or load like a Brown Bess.

Is the crack completely thru the forearm near the barrel key escutcheon plate? Do you have any pictures that show the crack more clearly?

Thanks,
Fez

Crack is through, but not to the wedge mortice. Kind of parallel to it. A little dab of Super Glue from inside

would set it right.

Wish I had the funds right now. I bought one of these new in 1976 from Kendalwood Arms in Baton Rouge, LA. Was a great single shot shotgun and took several squirrels and birds with it. Excellent arm for small or large game. This seller is also top notch, as we have had several transactions over the last decade or more.
