I’ve been knife making since 2007 but haven’t done much with it as of late, life got too busy. Looking to retire in a few years to our place in the hills of WV and that’s what I plan on doing in my spare time. Hoping to use some of that craftsmanship in the muzzleloader world!

Looking to finish a St. Louis Hawken rifle build, went percussion since I’m a newbie. Trying to learn as much as possible so I can shoot and hunt safely.

Excellent way to start the sport. This forum is crammed with advice, tips and tricks, I advise not getting into a big rush and documenting your successes and failures. As time goes by you will be competent and effective as a shooter, hunter, and contributor.
Welcome

Howdy, and welcome. That was my first build also. It's a nice kit. Mine is very accurate. I was a little put off by the plastic sights but have found them to work quite nicely and see no reason to replace them at this time. Enjoy building it and shooting it.
