I have up for your consideration an unfired New England fowler. I had received this in the white from Jackie brown. A freind of mine and gunmaker offered to help me finish it ... upon further inspection he offered to completely restock it, so I took him up on his offer. The LOP is a 13-1/4,42 inch octagon to round colrain, L&R queen Ann lock with all steel furniture. It has a shell carving behind the tang and some behind the entry thimble. I don’t have to sell it and it’s not gonna kill me to keep this nice fowler. I want 1500$ and I’ll cover shipping to CONUS.

If I hadn't just spent a bunch of money on a new (to us at least) car, I would be seriously interested. Unfortunately as brokennock aptly pointed out, there isn't much commerce in interest.

I don’t think jackie makes his own barrels. He gets them from all sorts of places, Greg Christian was one of his main suppliers at one time. I had specifically asked for a colrain in this case. Although come to think of it I never actually checked to make double sure.

I know that Greg Christian did that, Ken Netting does a tapered barrel, but I’ve never known Jackie to do so. He may have years ago, but when I spoke with him on a previous build about 5 years ago or so, he had told me that Greg Christians provided his barrels. Now on this build last year he had stated it was colrain. I know in the past he had been getting them from rice as well... I would say he is getting them wherever he can get them cheap enough. Whenever I had asked in the past,he’s never claimed to have built any of the barrels he used on my stuff... not saying he never made his own barrels, just stating That when I’ve asked in the past that’s the info he’s has provided to me.

Flintleather, according to a thread I just read on this forum you are correct he did make his own barrels ‘. The thread was posted in 2004. That’s the first I’ve ever heard of that... but my dealings with jackie have all been in the last 7 years.
