You can put a percussion lock into a flintlock stock. However a flintlock lock may require inletting a little to fit a percussion stock.

I converted my Hawken to a flintlock without any wood work, just swapped the parts. The percussion lock has extra material where the flash pan is on the flintlock.

"bolt through stock"? You referring to lock bolt? Have never seen one without.
most likely tang bolt , early ones had a wood screw.
