First time working with thin leather, i have no idea if its deer or maybe goat i saved it from the garbage, the back of the flap is suede and i lined it with a coton bag and attached at strategic points and reinforced the back of the bag with thicker leather to be able to attache the belt. The belt just haven’t decided how i will finish it to many ideas but the most important the pouch is donne.

Leather is like wood to me and it looks like you did very good. Nice.

Finally found out what kind of leather from the person that gave it to me. Deer leather from a fawn, no wonder it was so thin and soft. Super supple pouch finally found what i wanted for a belt.

looks amazing! is it hard to stitch leather? I'm rather new to Muzzle Loading and as a rookie mistake bought a bag that in hind sight, may be a bit bigger than I really Need. thought about making making my own, but don't know the first thing about leather working.

Do not feel bad about buying the wrong bag, that's how we all started and learned. That's what keeps "trade blankets" full. Search this and other sites and you will find info and assistance in producing your ideal gear. Working with leather is not difficult and making your own gear is the best part of this muzzle loading hobby. Good luck and stay with it.
