I’ll suggest several things.
4) personally I would contact Lodgewoid or another settler and get an original HF lock for it. I don’t remember the original lock markings.
Here's a picture of my original Harper's Ferry lock plate. Although my gun is now a hybrid I believe the Springfield stampings give it a better value and none is the wiser.

You could always join the North South Skirmish Association and see just how well these critters can be made to shoot.
