Hi, Just joined the forum.
Don't own BP gun ,am looking to get one ASAP.
Only experience is with BP revolver a mate has, like to get one of
them but live to far from club to qualify for club meets, So I'll
go with the long arm. Anyone got suggestions for a learners
first gun. Have to look into availability of powder& caps
up here in the N.Q. first. All help gratefully accepted.

Gary.

Find a percussion gun as it can use either black powder or a substitute powder. A flintlock will require real black powder due to the priming and is a bit harder a learning curve. Not sure what all you can find there but the Lyman Great Plains rifle is a good rifle. 50 calibre is most common size to get ball for.

Looking for Lyman Hawken.
Found one but now all firearm sales have been put on hold.
