I am originally from upstate N.Y. but have made Alabama my home for the last 20 years. I have owned and shot all kinds of guns but never muzzleloaders. One of my sons has been wanting to get started in black powder and specifically flintlocks. He has been talking to someone but since I will be building and asking most of the questions this looked like a great place. Thanks, John

Hi John! I'm in Huntsville.

If you are interested in shooting black powder guns from the era of the American Civil War, we have competitions at Brierfield Irworks State Park, which is just south of Birmingham!

Our web site is:
http://www.deepsouthnssa.com/
We shoot revolvers, smoothbore muskets, rifled muskets, carbines, and repeaters! Of course, you only need one gun to participate. You don't have to shoot everything.
