She shoots too! I THINK its a .36cal. I am having a hard time measuring the bore. I used 00 buckshot with a .018" patch and it loaded nicely and shot even better!

The name stamped on the backstrap is probably the maker... Your Myron Morgan was undoubtedly the owner in the 1950's-1960's when the police routinely told people to protect their collectables by using an electro-pencil to scribe on your name and social security number. The gun is in very nice shape for its age

A drilling is DREI (German) THREE .. LING (German) is TUBES ..A SxS with the third tube either over or under the center of the SxS.. That Gun shown was a Cape Gun . A SxS.. O.D

'Drilling' is German, as you note, a German language word meaning 'triple'. 'Twins' in German is 'Zwilling', the name of a famous brand of German kitchen cutlery.

Also the title of the astrological star sign that we call Gemini. A FlaKzwilling is a twin-barreled anti-aircraft cannon, usually 20/25 or 30mm calibre.

ln similar fashion, a four-barrelled gun is called a 'Vierling' - or in English, quad.

In German usage is it easier to say Zwilling than Zwei-ling. English has many such linguistic mods for ease of saying or spelling. We say helicopter, but the word is actually helic-opter - rotary-wing.
