I picked this up at a gunshow in Missoula today. Anybody have any info on it. Barrel looks to be about the size of a .410. Thanks.

Little Spanish made shotgun. Supposed to be made for export to South America, I think Dixie gun works imported some. Fun little guns, nice and light to carry.

Be warned, the lock internals are not high quality. It may pay to replace it with a better back action lock. I did.

I remember these Spanish made guns back in the mid-1960's. As a teenager, a friend of mine bought one from Sears. We would shoot blank loads with it.

Sam,
Thanks for the info. Mine is missing the hammer retaining screw. I'm having trouble determining what the thread pitch for it is. Would you know what it is? Thanks.

Some metric I’m sure. I would just take the lock to the hardware store and try different screws. Or re tap for a common one. Just be very careful not to break the tap in the hole!

I bought one of those from DGW back in the mid/late 60's. I think I paid $14.50 for it ! I also shot a woodchuck that was on a dead run about 50 yds. out and got him clean thru the neck with it, which had my brother in law laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes. Thanks for bringing back that long forgotten memory. Gotta love those lucky shots !

Don't go needing any parts - AMR are now mentioned only in 'History of Eibar gun-making' documentation. Over here in UK on the muzzleloading FB pages a guy recently bought a 12g SxS that I helped ID for him. It seemed quite nicely made and was similarly proofed to a LOW figure of 700 MPa - around 10,000 psi.

Go easy on it.

Further information on Spanish firearms - in particular dates of any BP arms by Jukar, for instance - may be gotten from this table -

Mr. Doughty,

I have the twin to your AMR which is a 10MM smoth bore. The markings and proofs are identical plus it has the same scallop shell patch box.
I also have a similar Spanish 28 ga that is clearly marked Pedro Arrizabalaga of Eibar (Gipuzkoa). This 28ga has a diamond logo that is lightly stamped but I believe it is the same as on your shotgun and my 10mm Shotgun.

Thanks,
O.R.
