I have two new cap lock revolvers, an 1860 Army and a 51 Navy. I am unable to get the loading lever latch to move rear ward on either gun without tools. Fingers can't make them move. Is this common? Sure put a damper on my enthusiasm for these guns. Any ideas to lighten them up some will be appreciated.

The latch is held in the lever by a vertical pin. I would drive the pin out, deburr the latch and inside the lever and see if that helps. You can always shorten the spring if the former doesn't do it.
