Kevin the 10-28 tap and die arrived yesterday. I went out to the shop this afternoon and took care of this problem.
The die chased the threads just fine and cleaned up the spindle shaft quite nicely. The Tap worked well recutting the threads on the bun nut.
I had to cut a bun nut tool from a screw driver insert blade.
Everything went to gether just fine.
Time to clean this gun up and get out to the range and see if I can make it shoot. It is is missing its nose cap. I have a spare nose cap but I am not sure I want to bother patching in new piece-well at least not this year. .
This a smooth bore and I want to use it during Muzzleloader deer season this year. I saw else where, here in the board, the goal is to get it to shoot 4 inch groups at 50 yards. I hope, I can achieve hat
But, before I go to the range the weather has to warm up a bit. Right now the weather here in central Oklahoma reminds me of the weather in the winter-spring on the southern Oregon Coast. Cold, dreary, overcast and wet. I do not miss that.
Kevin thank you for making this nut for me.
