Always windy here so my flintlock is called Chinook. :) 2CE52177-40A8-4786-A98C-4C20F631E90B.jpeg

I picked up the habit of naming cycles and cars from a friend (and the mechanic who kept me on the road beyond all reasonable expectation).
I never named any of my unmentionables, but the close involvement with a flintlock just seem to make it feel natural.
Of course, I have (on occasion) called them and myself) many other things but they have all been formally named. Christened in good single mal

Not very creative but, intending to honor the gunsmith who built it, I've named my .50 SMR "Jake" for J. Garner and my KY pistol "Norris" for L.D. Norris, their respective makers.

I broke form (because the names were too similar and the authorization was kindly given). I've given my Fusee de Chasse it's original owner's rendezvous camp name. He commissioned it bu didn't get to enjoy it nearly long enough. It is "Winter Weasel" and will be until they pry it from my stiff, cold fingers .

(And damned accurate to 56 yds (as far as I've tried so far) w/ a wadded .60 ball).
