One of my old work mates shot a nice big 8pt many years ago from his blind in Upper Mi. He gave it a min. them walked down to field dress it, took off his new wool hunting coat and hung it over the antlers, he had left his rifle in the blind and when he started moving the deer around the dang thing jumped up and ran off coat and all. Never found the coat or the deer. He had taken a head shot and figured the bullet grazed the skull and knocked the deer out.
