I've just placed an order for the Sea Service 1778 Model with Bayonette. This one is .75 cal. & has a 37" barrel, 2 barrel bands and no forend cap. This should make it an excellent, fast handling gun for birds as well as big game.
: As I order by phone, the easiest by far, Robert Henderson said it would be sent in approximately 1 week as they are swamped with orders & contracts at this time.
: Once it arrives, I will post some closeups as stated earlier.

So you're finally getting your Sea Service 1778...

A big grizzly high five for you...

-Awaiting reports.
Still thinking 1756. Just waiting the "6 week minimum" for a possible re-order.

Thanks guys- yeah - waiting is hard to do - didn't someone write a song about that?
: From Southern Ontario to Montana, through Port Huron, driving, I found NO BP in any of the 4 or 5 states I drove through. None of the US stores I stopped in, 1 or 2 in each state, had any and all said they couldn't get it.
: Luckily I was able to buy 8 lbs. in Ontario, 4lb.s in each of two stores I went to.
: Interesting situation, eh?

Port Huron??? Were you in Michigan, or is there another?
We have BP here in Michigan, Cabela's carries it, as do a few gun shops in various cities.

Unfortunately the store I stopped in didn't have any. We were travelling through and only stopped once in each state until reaching Montana. Each store I stopped in, said they couldn't get REAL BP. Obviously they didn't try very hard.
: One shop would have sold me any BP handgun or rifle in the display. I couldn't get over the pricing on the BP revolvers- incredibly cheap!! I think that was in Bizmark, Minn. in a Huge Mall - huge store.
:That would have raised a stink upon re-entering Canada- HA!
