National Star Wars day is fast approaching. May the fourth... be with you. In honor of this day I have decided to make the May contest a 4-shot corner shoot.

Take 4 Shots, one at each corner of an 8.5" x 11" sheet of typing/printer paper at 25 yards.

Try to place each shot as close to the corner as possible without cutting the edge. If you do cut the edge, all is not lost but, there will be a penalty of 1" added to your score for each shot that cuts the edge of the paper.

Each shot will be measured from corner of target to center of hole. These 4 measurements will be added together, plus any penalties, for your score.

One target entry per member.

4 shots per target.

Mutilated targets and targets with more than 4 holes will be disqualified.

No do-overs.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzleloading rifles (NO Cannons). Percussion or flintlock ignition. (you can use a smoothbore or pistol if you would like)

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at 25 yards.(Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso)(In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle)

Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scans, etc.

The center of the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.

The contest runs thru May, 2014.

Mail your target postmarked by June 2, 2014 to;

Jim Green
P.O.Box 322
Pekin, IL 61555

Targets will not be returned unless an S.A.S.E. is included.

Be safe and have fun! :hatsoff:

I will get the results for this posted as soon as I get back from Friendship. Ain't had a spare minute to get to the post office.

The Results!

In first place with a score of 7.442" is Mad Irish Jack O'Donnell. :hatsoff: Good shootin'!

Wildshot comes in 2nd with a score of 9.072".

Servicerifle scored a 12.650".

And Hermit scored a 15,251".

None too shabby targets. Hope you all had fun. Thanks for playing. :hatsoff:

Thanks. I had a good day with all my weapons. Today I might not do as well. I currently have the smooth bore barrel on the stock. That's a little harder to keep in. I might try it though, as a practice day. Paper's cheap. I still don't understand why more members don't join in. :idunno: You have a reason to go shoot, which is nothing more than practice. And shooting different targets isaa novelty in of itself.

Agreed! Plus it is a whole lot more fun than sitting in front of a computer.
