SOLD Map Horn

[Ames]

Nice map horn of western Pennsylvania, 1753-1758. Tansel style horn holds a large amount of powder. Apx. 21" along the outside curve, plus the spout plug, it carries either side.
The tip is turned whitetail antler and screws onto the horn. The spout plug is a carved beaver tail. The scalloped base plug was set with warm beeswax to keep things airtight. Would make a wonderful addition to your collection or displayed on a wall of rifles. $180 shipped. Thanks for looking.

Yes, I did, and yes you can. I'm working very slow this year after gouging my right eye last summer. It's still a mess, so I'm restricted to simple horns right now.

If I could provide you with a map of the area around the Fox River in Wisconsin, could you make a horn with that map on it? I've thought about doing one myself on a white horn I have, but that might be more than I can handle.
