Just got an email from Midsouth shooter supply that Lyman is doing a voluntary recall because of potential for breech plug separation. I would post a link but am on my iPad and don’t know how.

I read some where that Ruger used 4140 chrom-moly alloy,same investment cast alloy used in all their revolvers.
The steel has a huge tensile strength over a 100 K but all this strength is meaningless when configured into 19th century design.
Even modern guns blow up when gas escapes out of the case and into the action which is exactly what happens with external ignited smokeless powder in flint or percussion guns.
