simple works good.
i like the idea of some sort of finial on the wall side, leather on the gun side, and the first thing i saw were the phillips screws so maybe some slotted screws.
but good going.

The Philips screws were what I had on hand. They came with the plastic sleeves for dry wall. They are not noticeable unless up close. I also have electric lights, running water, and a 55" TV, so the Philips fit in OK for wall hanging. šŸ˜
