Just a heads up that for those desiring a long rifle hard case Crazy Crow is now offering them that will fit a gun up to 72" long - it's item #4663-040-001 http://www.crazycrow.com/mm5/merch...arch_Begin_Only=&sort=&range_low=&range_high=
I have not tested these nor am I invested in Crazy Crow, but thought others may be interested
Hey good find I usually make mine out of wood but never fly anywhere with them. This would allow you to fly with a longrifle and meet airline requirements...

Nice find and nice case for car etc use where you are handling the container. It however does not look to be the right design for airline travel. The industry standard is Americase and Pelican or Tuff Pack for air travel and the airlines manage to wreck these or the contents from time to time.I haven't seen this other case up close but from the pictures and description, my opinion is this versions laminated ABS panels and hardware, hinges etc don't seem strong enough, and based on the lid flex from the picture of the open case, not rigid enough either. With the added length the airlines would easily find a way to dent or severely bend this gun case.

If you want a case with the best chance of protecting a valuable long gun in airline or other public carrier use you may want to check these guys out.

Americase is not cheap, but they will custom build any length or configuration you want, and they are strong supporters of hunting and gun rights.

That looks like a nice case.
I have a case for my long rifle. But, be aware, these cases are (of course) long and akward. Some small cars don't have room for them. Because of the length, I would not ship one via airlines. Those handlers work in a huge hurry and even the sturdiest of containers often get destroyed in the process.
