what's your guys experience with ballistol/water strips dying out over time? I have some strips that are coming up on being one year old, and I can no longer feel or smell the oil. I keep them in a ziploc bag. I went shooting yesterday and my groups were considerably larger than normal. It could of been the strong head wind I was shooting in, but was wondering if my patch strips weren't lubricated properly any more since I can't feel or smell any oil like I used to?

I have had same Ballistol/water strips in plastic bags for more than 2 years and they worked fine. Make sure they were totally dry when storing otherwise they develop mold.

Thanks guys. I didn't think to look at my patches. They were dry when I put them in and have been in the sealed bag all the time. I posted a question about wind affects in another topic and based on those responses I am convinced it was the wind. I'll have to see my results next time out
