I just received a new Lee .530 double cavity round ball mold and it seems like one half of the molding blocks is loose. Is this the way the mold is supposed to be so it can line up with the other half?

Yes they have a little looseness and when closed, line up perfectly on the pins.

Thank you Frontier's for your reply! I am glad I don't have to send them back. Stay healthy and shoot straight!
As long as they line up when you close it, it is fine. The newer Lee moulds are much better than the older versions, not that they were bad but a big improvement.

I rely on Lee molds for most calibers of ball. I find them excellent.

Yeah, all of my ball molds are Lee's too! I do like to mix sizes though and tumble them and the small sprue anyway, just about disappears.
