Thanks Mr Coffins
It truly is a piece of cake. Watch his videos a few times prior to its arrival. I think it took me somewhere around 10-12 hours the first time with finishes and everything. The second time was probably 15-16 hours, but I did some carving work.

One, without experience, can put one of these together in 6-8 hours (no finishes).

Don't be scared just do it. I was worried I would mess it up.I think it turned out OK. mine is a cherry stock .58cal smoothbore

Put around 60 hours into my Colonials. I like them to shine, and a drill was the only power tool that I used. Lots of time spent filing brass details and hand sanding with little sanding sticks.

@Zutt-man 's great build-along, complete with time-log really shows the steps nicely.

I’ve done two Colonials. It will be easier than you think. I still advise taking your time.
The .54 felt better than the .50. But the .50 is great at the range.
I’ve ordered a Woodsrunner for myself, mainly out of curiosity.

@Zutt-man: lovely work! I searched for your build along thread referenced earlier in this thread, but couldn’t find it. Could you please post a link?

I’d also like to hear about your results using the .58 Colonial with shot loads. What kinds of patterns are you getting? I’m thinking of doing the same thing.

Are all Kibler kits able to be assembled by a Neophyte or does the Colonial kit at a higher skills level. I have many flintlock rifles but I only built one as a teenager.CVA Kentucky rifle was what I built. Is a colonial kit from Kibler monumentally harder to put together
To me it was pretty easy, had to file the brass and do very little wood work.
On the stock, it's extra fancy maple, done the way they did on the video.

At 50 yards standing and kneeling
