Kentucky Rifle identification

Hi, my father recently passed on a couple flintlocks to me and if anyone had any information as to history and or value.

Any signatures? Both look like post 1800 flint rifles from somewhere in the upper Susquehanna area.

Just on the one lock, let me double check.

Looks like R. Ash more on the lock

Locks of that period were stamped with names of lock manufacturers. They usually don’t help identify guns.

They almost look like the same guy made them. The trigger, trigger guard orientation on the second one looks really odd, looks like the trigger plate came loose.

The lock IS R. Ashmore.

They do appear to be originals. It would be worth your time to seek out a competent gun appraiser or at least a person knowledgeable in period firearms that you could take them to in person. You might start by seeking out muzzleloading clubs near you and reaching out.
