I don't cut at the muzzle or use a starter so sounds like I'm golden.I usually Leave my jag on the ram rod but it does give a couple of issues. It isn't as easy to cut the patch at the muzzle. It also usually keeps the short starter from going as far into the barrel.
On the plus side, the jag gives a little more length to hang on to when pulling the ram rod out of the barrel.
I was just looking into button jags. I'll go with one of them instead but for now I have this one.I leave a short button jag on mine. Then I always know I have the right caliber jag with the correct threads. I shoot maxis and never found it to be on my way.
Same here … residue wipes off …… only issue I have with it is powder burning on it. Other Than that it's ok

I should have added, “cuz if I took the jag off my ramrod, I’d never get a bullet to stay down the barrel. There’s a bullet puller under the jag.”I always leave mine on.
I do it pretty regularly as I like to swab between shots. You do have to be mindful of it. But your careful anyway if your shooting a mlDoes anyone leave their jag on their ramrod while shooting? Does it get on the way sticking past the barrel?
