My son has done several trips in the boundary waters.

It might be a great place for your canoe trip. All the experience of canoe trekking, without the stupid Canadian gun laws (which are even more restrictive and stupid than 12 years ago)

Been to BWCA 3 times it's a beautiful place.

Maybe the Canadian folks running the canoe trek didn't want to deal with guns, because my experience is that Canada doesn't regard flintlocks as "firearms". Caplocks and any gun more modern are not allowed over the border from the USA, but I've transported flintlocks on several occasions into Ontario for shooting/reenacting events. I talked on the phone to several nice lady Mounties who explained everything to me. The border patrol inspected my flintlocks and waved me through.

You might want to check again.
The government up there is about to enact a new round of draconian insanity regarding guns. As in any day.
Going to have a profound impact on any firearms-related activity.

I feel bad for the outfitters and people that rely on south of the boarder $$ to keep them alive. (Not that border) little Castro is killing them bit by bit.

RanchRoper;

It seems like it’s been an awfully long time since the Chinese and Russians have lost.

The bad guys don’t always lose.
The good guys don’t always win.

But are they going to lose during the lifetimes of anyone currently living?
Yes.
If, you see "us" as the "good guys" (and such things are subjective), one might day we already are losing.
But, this would take us far off the acceptable topic matter for this part of the forum.
Let's just say, and you can research in your own from here, that China is in track to be the world's dominant economic superpower by 2033 or 2034. If Xi Jinping can broker the peace deal between Russia and Ukraine that he is working on,, you can advance that by a few years. While you look into that, look into theor control of lithium and the entire industry of the equipment needed to make everything currently fossil fuel powered electric.

Yup, picked one off the dog a few weeks ago. But, that was before we reverted back to winter and more snow. Warm yesterday, warm but windy today,,,, I'm betting if I took the dog out and he ran through some weeds and mountain laurel today,,, there would be ticks on him.
