Just acquired a pistol

I thought members might be interested in some photos of a pistol I just acquired. Paris, c. 1840. If anyone wants to know what good inletting looks like, here it is. .52 bore. The single-set trigger is a joy. Very clean bore with interesting rifling. It should be a great shooter.

Wow, how much time do you think was spent engraving the barrel of that gun?

None. It’s acid-etched Damascus.

ill be darned, never heard of such a process. Very good looking gun.
