Looking good - you are flying through this build! Butt plate fits very nicely. Are you going to put a brass plate at the end of the patch box lid or leave it plain wood?

Mine were. Of course I chickened out of the fun part n ordered in the white lolol. Loooong wait but worth it. Lori say Jim Built mine! Standard maple but no comment pending stain. Should be ++ compared to other vendors. The hardest decision will be the colonial in .54 or .58 and smooth or not. OMG I hate to ask the wife but she knows everything?

BTW the OP build per touch hole/pan placement looks like the Lord did it! perfect!

I was under the assumption that all the holes were drilled, such as barrel pins and trigger gaurd pins and so forth?
In the stock yes and ramrod pipes, the barrel lugs are now part of the barrel and are not drilled same as the trigger guard. It is so easy with the supplied drill gig. The locks are drilled and tapped now as well.

Nose cap is on and pined, I did it a little differently and did it in the ramrod cut out and only used one pin with Gorilla two part epoxy.

It looks like there is a little runout in the muzzle of that barrel---drilled off center. When the time comes for test firing, you may have to do a little bit of barrel bending to keep the sights centered. Time will tell.

I just checked it nope it is perfect must be the angel of my picture.

That's good. Barrel runout was more common years ago, (and GR Douglas barrels were notorious for it) but we haven't heard much about it for quite a while. The final proof will be in the shooting though. You have a bit of work left between now and then.

This is my first build..I am dedicating my build to my Dad rest his sole. I am using his old wood chisels and files. That man could make a gun stock from a 2x4 lol man I wish he was alive to take the first shot with me when it is finished. I am really enjoying the process of getting it done.

I am nearly finished and it's a great feeling but I am also sad...I have not yet decided how I want to finish the barrel bead blasting and brown or blue and rub back some to have a gray type finish.
